Terms of Service

Last updated: August 12, 2026

1. Agreement

By using Watermarks Remover ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

The Service removes AI provenance marks (invisible Unicode characters, C2PA manifests, EXIF/XMP metadata, and document properties) from text and files you submit. It is provided "as is", free of charge, and is sponsored by Memo.

3. Content you submit

You represent that you own the content you submit or have the legal right to process it. You are solely responsible for what you upload and for how you use the results.

The Service performs best-effort cleaning. It cannot certify that a vendor's watermark detector will fail, because providers do not publish detection keys. Statistical text watermarks are only removed by rewriting, which changes the wording.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Commit academic fraud or misrepresent AI-generated work as human-authored in academic, legal or regulated contexts;
  • Impersonate others or facilitate deception or fraud;
  • Violate applicable law, including AI-transparency obligations such as the EU AI Act (Article 50) and California SB 942;
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or abuse the Service or its infrastructure.

5. Email and quota

A valid email address is required to unlock results. The email is used to enforce a daily free quota, to prevent abuse, and to operate the sponsor-funded model. See the Privacy Policy for details. We never sell your email.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Cleaning results are not guaranteed to defeat any specific watermark detector.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ${siteName} and its sponsor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Open source

The cleaning engine is open source (MIT). You can inspect, self-host and audit it at any time.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
